I didn't realize I hadn't written in a week

Thank you all for hanging in with me. There's essentially no news--although yes, Margaret, I have prayer shawls now. :-) They're beautiful, too.

I have no energy, and I'm queasy all the time. We're wondering if Compazine is really working at all for me. I could take an Ativan and feel better--and sleep until night time.

None the worse and none the better; just... here. Thank you all for praying.

you are always in this dog's prayers... glad to see you post again, even if nothing much is new

so how many prayer shawls did you end up with?

We've been praying for you, especially at the Wednesday Healing Eucharist, at Parroquia San Cristóbal.

I had quite a time with Linda and Vivian; actually, Vivian will be here for another three weeks.

I hope you start feeling better soon.

There are stronger, but more expensive, medications for nausea other than Compazine. Ask your health provider next time you see him/her. Many times there are samples available.

Otherwise, hugs to you, dear Sister in Christ. And you are forgiven for not posting ;). I'm sure not one to talk!

Don't worry about posting or not posting. As my mother would say, "hug yourself to yourself" during this time. And also know that you are carried by the prayers of others. It's fine just to take it one hour at a time ("one day at a time" can be too long!) and live in a narrow range when you are going through something like this. Glad you got prayer shawls. I hope they remind you of the broader community praying for you. We prayed for you at St. Mary's House last week and will do so again tomorrow.

Kirstin -- sick is very difficult. At my sickest I always feel that I will never be well. It always turns out that that was a lie. And so it shall be for you.

Love and hugs and prayers.

You are not forgotten here in the swamps, that's for sure. I am liking the thought of you wrapped in prayer shawls, an outward and visible sign.

Kirstin,
Lauralew is right. There are other medications for nausea that may be more helpful. Let you medical provider know that the Compazine is not helping the nausea.

Prayers continue.
