Road-trippin'

I’m headed to the Bay Area now, to wander around Berkeley a bit (read: talk to an herbalist at Elephant about de-toxing, and maybe get a haircut) and SF to see a friend make her life vows as a Franciscan. I’m off to the Ranch tomorrow.

I don’t know yet where I’m sleeping tonight; I’ll ask Berkeley friends when I get there if I can crash with them. (They’ll probably say yes.) In any case, I’m not taking my laptop with me.

I will pack my camera, if I can find it. (It wasn’t in the pile I moved to the vacuum closet yesterday.) And I’ll be back on Sunday.

Yay for escapes. I so need this. Peace to all!

Kirstin -
I came across your blog a few hours ago, led here by Father Jake's blog. Your melanoma story, truly a rabbit hole, has moved me deeply. Your honesty and bravery is amazing. Melanoma is such an evil disease. I am praying for you as you journey through your interferon treatments. There is so much that is on your side that make the statistics more in your favor than the "official" ones that you have been given. You are not a statistic. You are Kirstin, beloved child of God. No statistic can describe that! You will be well. You will be an awesome priest and will minister to others more effectively than before the big C. I am sorry for your suffering. It is unavoidable in your situation. God is truly with you and will use your current pain and future healing to work good for others.
Forgive me if I am intruding. You touched me and I feel moved to respond to your witness.
I hope that you are enjoying your weekend!
God bless you and keep you.

Maybe Alison, the King of Euclid, knows where you can crash.

The Bishop's Ranch is beautiful, but last time I was there (back when dinosaurs roamed the earth) I could barely breathe due to the Cow Gas.

Loves me the Hop Kiln winery and Mike's Big Red!

Have a nice long weekend! it's just cuatro de Julio here; no big deal.

Kirstin, you are in my thoughts. Best wishes for a peaceful, nausea-free (is that possible?) weekend.

Blessings,

Judy, a companion canser contender (tumour on her spine hasn't grown in two years) and friend of Naomi, swears by foot detoxing. She also eats apricot seeds that contain something that she maintains holds the beast in abeyance. Anyway, she says foot detoxing is simply the best and that people feel so good afterwards.

Prayers continue and did so while I was in El Salvador.

Praying for your numbers that they go in whatever direction they should go so you can get through all the drips. That's what's so frustrating about the rabbit hole: they give you a plan of treatment and then the numbers and the body decide otherwise.
